College Basketball Picks 1/24

I felt good about last night’s pick of Syracuse covering at Cincy, but it ended up being closer than it should have. The Orange missed a bunch of free throws at the end that about caused me to punch a puppy, but they squeaked it out. Tonight’s games are pretty exciting for a Tuesday .

Chach’s Picks

Here are my picks for Tuesday, January 24th: (Record: 1-0)

South Florida +10.5 at Marquette.

I like SF in this one. They are a pretty good defensive team, holding opponents to just 58.5 points per streak and are a slow, grind-it-out type team. If they can control the ball and let the clock tick, Marquette won’t be able to score enough to cover 10.5. Plus, SF has only been double-digit dogs in one game all season (@ Kansas. Exception).

Iowa State at -8 Texas.

I am nervous about this one. I think Iowa State is a real good team who plays well on the road, but the one

J

thing I keep coming back to is Texas’ recent schedule. They played @ #2 Missouri, then @ #22 Kansas State, then at home against #5 Kansas. Granted, they lost those games, but only by 18 total points. They’re pissed off and want to blow somebody out.

San Diego State at -2.5 Wyoming.

Wyoming is 7-2 at home ATS. San Diego State has only played two road games out of their last 10 total. Not much experience away and an obvious home court advantage equals a home win. Free throws at end will cover.

Michigan at -5 Purdue.

The Wolverines are 1-4 on the road this year. Purdue is coming home after getting blown out at Michigan State and will pumped up to face a ranked Michigan team. The crowd will be loud Robbie Hummel and the Boilermakers in a must win game.
